Perfection Isn't the Goal.

Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that perfection is the destination.

No flaws. No mess. No uncertainty.

Just polish, poise, and performance.

As professionals and leaders, we've been conditioned to present the version of ourselves we thought we were supposed to be. The buttoned-up is always in control and never off-script.

But I've learned that perfection isn't the goal. Authenticity is. Progress is. Connection is.

I'm far from perfect, and that's exactly the point. Everything changed when I stopped trying to embody an image and started showing up as me, not the curated, polished version, but the real one.

I've been able to serve my peers more deeply.

Support friends more honestly.

Mentor others with real vulnerability.

And lead with more trust and impact.

When we let go of "perfect," we create space for growth in ourselves and in others.

We model what it looks like to evolve, to be human, and to lead with integrity.

So no, I'm not chasing perfection anymore. I'm chasing presence. Progress. Realness.

And it's making all the difference.

The unpolished path may be tougher, but that's usually the one that leads somewhere real.
